Happy February everyone,
So we continue on with our letters P, Q, & R, the number 6, and the color purple. We will continue to practice with our coloring in the lines, cutting skills, and letter and number recognition. We will have a Valentine’s Party on Friday, February 12, with a small snack mix that we will make together. The kids seem to enjoy making them, I will send home and slip of paper for the supplies.
For the Valentine’s Party, we will exchange Valentine’s between the kids. They will decorate their own bags for them.
The Pre-K class will be having Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday, February 26. I am not going to have official conferences unless you want to talk about something. I will do evaluations and send a copy home with the kids, so you can see how they are doing. If you want to talk or have any questions please leave a note or call the preschool and I will get back with you.
Thank you and God Bless.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
Miss. Schroder
Hi everyone,
During February we will learn about Valentine’s Day and Transport. We will learn numbers up to 16 now, and the letters V, H, N and O.
We will be having a Valentine’s Party where children can exchange gifts, but can I please ask that the gifts are non-edible. With allergies it makes it more inclusive (and healthier for our kids anyway). Examples might be stickers, pencils, etc. I will let you know more about the party food closer to the day via Class Dojo.
When we start with transport, we will be doing some child-led STEM activities. I would like for you all to start collecting boxes, plastic bottles and containers for this activity. Examples are cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, washed and dry juice / milk / soda bottles (no cans as they’re too sharp), yogurt containers, granola bar boxes, medicine boxes, etc. Once you have a bagful, you can send them in whenever you can and I will need LOTS, so just keep them coming. (Yes our classroom may look like a junk yard but it’s going to be fun!!!)
We will also be starting a basic introduction to a few sight words, and sounding out simple words such as mat, cat sat. We have several children showing interest and readiness for this, with beginning reading behaviors, so I will start it, and I know all children will benefit.
As you know we say mantras a lot. Our new mantra will be, “We always do our best.” As we move towards Kinder, I think this is an important thing for little people to think and learn about in our more structured learning times.
As always, please message me on Class Dojo with any questions or comments. I absolutely love these little people, and it is a rewarding time of year for a teacher because you’re at the point where you know the kids very well and can plan accordingly.
May peace be with you,
Mrs Lewis
We are moving along at quite the fast pace here! I can't believe it is already February. We will be starting the month preparing for Valentine's Day and will move on to reviewing what we have learned thus far. Since we have learned a lot so far and will keep moving forward, I am planning to do a whole week dedicated to review every month for the rest of the school year. Later in the month, we will have no class on Friday, February 26th so we can have conferences. I will be sending out a sign up on Class Dojo mid month. I will be offering in person and zoom conferences.
We will be continuing to learn our last names and phone numbers. Please work on these with them at home! I have seen so much growth in the kids and that has been so encouraging, but I also know that is also thanks to you parents. The work you are putting in to help your kids is showing and I am incredibly thankful for each of you. Let's keep it up!
Many Thanks and Blessings,
Mrs Nowak
