Spinning News
Post-it notes have a way of telling stories. I looked at my desk this morning and saw 15 Post-it Notes.
If you are the type of person who keeps track of what you have to do, you might use them. Over time, they can become a small visualization of the chaos happening in your head. One note reminds you to make a call. Another tells you to finish a project. Another sits there quietly reminding you of something you cannot forget.
When we make that switch from the quiet of the morning to “now it’s time to work,” the list of things to do in our minds can suddenly feel overwhelming. Responsibilities, deadlines, conversations, and problems all seem to appear at once. It can feel like standing in front of a wall of Post-it notes, each one demanding attention.
Yet in that moment, we have a choice to make.
We can choose to frantically work through each Post-it note, trying to solve everything by our own strength. Or we can take each thing to God in prayer.
The Bible gives us a simple instruction in Psalm 55:22: “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.” God never intended for us to carry this weight alone. The worries, pressures, and responsibilities that pile up in our minds are invitations to turn to God. Prayer does not always remove the tasks in front of us, but it does change how we face them. When we place our cares before the Lord, we remember that He is the one who sustains us.
So the next time your mind fills with a long list of things to do, pause for a moment. Before rushing to the first task, bring each concern to the Lord. One by one, place those “Post-it notes” in His hands and trust Him to sustain you through the day.
With love and gratitude for each of you,
Pastor Elliott Rinehart

Dear Spinning Road Family,
Awana Club meets on Wednesday nights from 6:05 to 7:30 PM. We are so excited to have so many children learning about Jesus each week and digging more into God’s word together! We closed out March working on and completing sections in our handbooks.
The Sparkies had just finished having a lot of fun at their Late Night Out Party in February. March started off with the opening of the 2nd Awana Store! It was a time for our clubbers to spend or save their hard-earned Awana points they have been earning in the club! They earn their ‘money’ by memorizing Bible verses, completing sections in their handbooks, participating in theme nights, and more.
On the 18th, Wow, what a fun night of racing at our annual Awana
Grand Prix! Thank you to all the volunteers who had helping hands to make the night a special one, and a special thank you to all those who attended to watch and to race! A special Thank-you to Pastor Elliott, who enjoyed dinner with us and brought a special devotional message to us before we started the night of racing. Thank you to all who entered the race this year, and congratulations to all winners! Thank you to all of our Leaders, volunteers, parents, and Clubbers for a great race! Hopefully, everyone had a great time. Start thinking about those car designs for next year!
March closed out with our TnT clubbers looking forward to having a blast at their mini-Lock-in on the 10th.
April will be a busy month as the 6th graders will be taking off for a farewell outing before they say goodbye to TnT and transition into Trek next club year. The Trek & Journey clubs are planning their end-of-the-year outing.
The Sparks and TnT clubs will be gathering in late April to do a final push to see how many more sections they can complete in their handbooks on Super Section Saturday.
Our current AWANA club year is winding down very quickly, we’re trying to finish strong!!
Mark Your Calendars:
- May 6 – Last Regular Club Night and store of this AWANA year.
- May 13 – Awards Night! All are encouraged to attend to cheer on our clubbers for their accomplishments this club year.
We're grateful for your continued support and prayers for our dedicated staff, clubbers, and their families. Thank you for being part of the Awana community
Cool with Christ,
Tere Sharp
Co-Commander

Shining a Light on Who Jesus Really Is
Bring your curiosity to Illumination Station VBS. It invites children to explore how light reveals truth, focusing on Jesus as the Light of the World. Based on John 8:12, this exciting, high-energy program helps kids discover Jesus is the proven, powerful Son of God.
Kids will be challenged to answer Jesus' important question to His disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" As they explore all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals, kids will discover that Jesus is the light who brings hope to a dark world.
Every day will be an adventure at Illumination Station VBS! Make plans now to be part of a great VBS week this summer July 12-17. Join us for six nights of adventure, fun – worship, Bible study, crafts, games, music, missions, friends, and more! The best part is that the entire 6 days are designed especially for kids ages 3 (prior to June 1, 2026) through those students who will just be completing 6th grade!
Mark your calendars today, and registration will begin June 1, 2026.
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be a part of something special. See you there!
