If my math/calendar skills are correct, it will be 50 weeks that we have spent with you, and we (Lin and I) have enjoyed each of them. Heaven will be similar.
A new resident shows up, we fellowship, show them around, let them see how things work, and boom, they are part of the family!
There's a song out there: "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir." You have certainly made a place for us. It has been a privilege to serve SRBC, but I hope to stick around and help as/when I am needed.
Some things that still need to be completed:
* Elliott and his family's move here to Dayton (Pray with them for safety and wisdom)
* Housing. We understand that they have a plan to "scout around" before settling in.
* Elliott's 1st Sunday (January 18, 2026) A preacher preaches better when the church is full (Hint-Hint)
* Our Annual Business Meeting (January 25 ,2026) with important constitutional changes
on the table.
* An official Installation Service for Elliott (February 1, 2026) at 4 pm with a chilli
cookoff following. The Theme: "Passing the torch". PS: The Winter Olympics begin that
week, get it? Who can make the "Tourchiest Chilli"?
* Ordination preparation. Yes, Elliott is ordained, yet he desires to transfer this ordination over to ABC/USA compliance. This will take work, and I have offered my time to help him work through the ins-and-outs of this blessing.
What wonderful opportunities lie ahead! Let's work until Jesus comes....

Your Interim Pastor, Steve Tufts

CHILDREN & YOUTH CHRISTMAS PLAY UPDATE
Due to inclement weather on Sunday, December 14, we were unable to share our Children and Youth Christmas Play as originally planned. We are thankful for everyone’s understanding and are pleased to share that the program will be rescheduled for
Sunday evening, January 11, at 7:00 p.m.
We invite you to join us for this special evening as our children and youth share the message of Christ’s birth through song and story. Your presence and encouragement will be a true blessing to them.
Happy New Year, everyone! We pray you enjoyed a joyful and refreshing holiday season with your loved ones. It’s hard to believe that another year has come and gone, we are grateful for all that God has done through us.
Our AWANA Club enjoyed a brief holiday break and will resume on January 7th at 6:05 p.m. We’re looking forward to hearing about the clubbers’ adventures over the break and beginning another exciting season together.
December truly flew by:
• December 3rd: We opened our first AWANA Store for the year, where
clubbers chose to spend or save their hard-earned points for a future store.
• December 10th: Clubbers shopped at the Christmas Store, selecting
gifts for the adults who care for them—a beautiful expression of generosity
and gratitude.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Miss Kelly and her crew for organizing and running both stores. Your dedication and servant hearts made these special moments possible, and we are truly appreciative.
• December 17th: Our TNT, Trek, and Journey clubbers came together to
assemble Christmas baskets for members of our church and community,
sharing Christ’s love in meaningful ways.
We paused club meetings on December 24th and 31st to celebrate the birth of our Savior with family and friends. Club will resume on January 7th, marking a wonderful start to 2026.
We are so thankful for our volunteers, leaders, and supporters. Your prayers, love, and faithful service help our clubbers learn God’s Word and hide it in
their hearts.
Please continue to pray for our children to receive the gospel of Christ,
for wisdom and strength for our leadership, and for God’s continued growth and impact through our AWANA ministry in our church and community.
Blessings as we step into this new year together.
Because kids matter to God!
