Spinning News

Having been retired for three years, I had forgotten how busy the month of April can be. Here are dates to be aware of this month
April 1: April Fools’ Day. Many people reference this as also being “national theist day“. Psalm 14:1 reminds us that “the fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’”. This is a good opportunity to pray for the spreading of the gospel message as well as for those who need to hear the message that Jesus saves.
April 6: Baptism and communion Sunday. Four young
people have made the decision to follow Jesus Christ in
believers' baptism. Pastor Scott will return to the church to baptize them as we also include communion as directed by our Lord.
April 13: Palm Sunday will include an egg hunt for the children
(There will be lunch after the worship service for those helping with the egg hunt )
April 17: The church will gather again on Thursday night (7:00) to celebrate communion on the anniversary of Christ’s Last Supper with the disciples. This is always a meaningful night of worship for believers.
April 18: Good Friday. Through my years of ministry, I’ve had many children ask me, “What is so good about Good Friday? “ Although we don’t consider someone’s death as being good, yet we realize that it was Christ’s perfect life and death that paid for the penalty of our sin. That is the good news!
April 20: Sonrise Service at the park at 7:30 AM with breakfast following at the church. I hope to deliver a simple message: “The first on the scene“. Sunday School will follow breakfast, and we’ll gather in the sanctuary for a celebration of the resurrection. Easter Sunday has always been deeply meaningful to me, even as a young child.
“Christ is risen, He is risen, indeed“.
In fellowship with you and Christ,
Interim Pastor Steve Tufts

Impact Youth Group is where youth (5th – 12th grades) have the opportunity to fellowship, play games, eat snacks, have fun, and worship, all while growing in their relationship with God. We meet Sunday evenings from 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm. We also have many off-site events throughout the year like day trips, special events, retreats, and more! It's a great place to invite a friend. Come check us out!

We still focus on the offering on the 3rd Sunday, but you may give at any time.

Our Quarterly Business meeting will be on Sunday, April 27 after the morning worship. We will have a brief meeting to update the congregation on the business of the church. Please plan to stay a little longer on this day.

Discovering the Bigness of God in the Smallest of Things
Bring your curiosity to Magnified VBS! Zoom in to the intricate details of a tiny acorn and gaze up into the massive limbs of the oak tree. Kids will be challenged during our week together, to stand in awe of God's spectacular creation and see how He keeps the whole universe going and growing, and yet He still cares about what's going on in their lives.
Every day will be an adventure at Magnified VBS! Make plans now to be part of a great VBS week this summer, July 13-18. Join us for six nights of adventure, fun, worship, Bible study, crafts, games, music, missions, friends, and more! The best part is that the entire 6 days are designed especially for kids ages 3 (prior to June 1, 2025) through those students who will just be completing 6th grade!
Mark your calendars today, and registration will begin June 1, 2025.
Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be a part of something special. See you there!

If you wish to purchase them in memory or honor of someone please note that on the form.
Please make checks out to the church and note that it is for “flowers”. If you wish to pay cash please use an envelope in the pew and mark it “flowers”. You can put the check/cash in the offering plate or give it to Wauneita Koogler.
Orders will be taken now through April 13. The plants will be in the sanctuary for Sunday, April 20th, and can be taken home after the morning worship service.

Dear Spinning Road Family,
Awana Club meets Wednesday nights from 6:05 to 7:30 PM. We are so excited to have so many children learning about Jesus each week and digging more into God’s word together!
We closed March out working on and completing sections in our handbooks.
The Sparkies had just finished having a lot of fun at their Late Night Out Party in February. March started with the opening of the 2nd Awana Store! It was a time for our clubbers to spend or save their hard-earned Awana points they have been earning in club! They earn their ‘money’ by memorizing Bible verses, completing sections in their handbooks, and participating in theme nights.
On the 19th, Wow, what a fun night of racing at our annual Awana Grand Prix! Thank you to all the volunteers who had helping hands to make the night a special one & special thank you to all those who attended to watch and to race! A special Thank-you to Pastor Steve, our interim Pastor, who stopped by, enjoyed dinner with us & brought a special devotional message to us. Thank you to all who entered the race this year & congratulations to all winners! Thank you to all of our Leaders, volunteers, parents, and Clubbers for a great race! Hopefully, everyone had a great time. Start thinking about those car designs for next year!
March closed out with our TnT clubbers having a blast at their Lock-in
on the 28 – 29.
April will be a busy month as the 6th graders will be taking off for a farewell outing before they say goodbye to TnT and transition into Trek next club year. The Trek & Journey clubs are planning their end-of-the-year outing.
The Sparks and TnT clubs will be gathering on Saturday, April 26, to do a final push to see how many more sections they can complete in their handbooks on Super Section Saturday.
Our current AWANA club year is winding down very quickly, we’re trying to finish strong!!
Mark Your Calendars

May 14 – Awards Night! All are encouraged to attend to cheer on our clubbers for their accomplishments this club year.
We ask for your continued positive thoughts, prayers, and support for our dedicated staff and for the Great kids who attend each week and for the parent/guardians that bring them.
We're grateful for your continued support and prayers for our dedicated staff, clubbers, and their families. Thank you for being part of the Awana community!
