Spinning News
You all have done a wonderful job,
you have been loving and patient, and possibly you may be arriving at your new destination soon.
Doing a little homework about the pilgrims reminds me of being in grade school and learning of their journey to the
New World.
In 1620, 139 people boarded the Mayflower, which was only 100 feet long and 24 feet wide. The voyage took them two months, and they traveled 3000 miles into the Westerly wind. They averaged 2 mph, and you know, the rest of the story, it was cramped and cold, and sometimes the food was not adequate, and many died on the trip. Yet they made their pilgrimage
(a spiritual journey into the unknown). The first thing they did when they landed in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, was to kneel on the ground of the New World and thank God for their journey.
You all have been on a pilgrimage of sorts, and you’ve done remarkably well. Let’s keep praying that the church and the pastoral candidate sense the leadership of the Holy Spirit, that possibly a great work will be completed.
Your Interim Pastor, Steve Tufts

We are off to an exciting start at Awana club. It’s not too late for kids to join AWANA for this club year. Awana is for children age 2 – 12th grade. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:05 – 7:30 PM. It’s a fun time! Don’t miss the fun!
Wow, November is already here, and the trees are looking fabulous with their fall colors as they color the ground with their leaves! Our club is buzzing on Wednesday evenings with learning, laughter, singing, and more! As we head into the season of Thanksgiving, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to all who make Awana possible through prayer, encouragement, and a helping hand each week!
October was a busy month in the life of our club. October 15, Clubbers and leaders came to Club wearing all sorts of hats to Club for Hat Night. The 22nd kicked off our pantry nights as clubbers are starting to bring in nonperishable food items to help restock our church’s food pantry for the holidays. Our theme night was crazy hair night. It was a hit! Clubbers and leaders showed off their wildest, wackiest hairstyles—bright colors, fun wigs, and lots of laughs! Thanks to everyone who joined the fun and made this AWANA night extra special!
The 29th was Fall Fun Night. We also enjoyed parties, fun, and food for
Fall Fun Night.
November will focus on giving. Clubbers can fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and continue bringing in non-perishable food items to give love and food to the needy in our Church, neighborhood, and community for the holidays.
There will be NO club on Wednesday, November 26, a time that we should all slow down and celebrate with our family and loved ones. Club will resume on Wednesday, December 3, where we will also open the 1st Awana store of the year for clubbers to get their “Shop On”!
We are grateful that our church supports Awana, as we can see God working in clubbers and leaders'/volunteers’ lives. Thank you to all who help clubbers learn God’s word, so they can hide it in their hearts and apply it to their daily lives!
We ask that you continue to partner with us by praying for everyone involved in Club, and that we’ll reach clubbers and their families through the teaching and memorization of God's Word, and for future clubbers.
Thank you for your continued support in this ministry!
Because Kids matter to God!
Cool with Christ, Tere Sharp, Co-Commander

All children and youth are invited to be a part of the 2025 Christmas Program! We’re practicing each Sunday during the Children's Church portion of the morning service. It is very important that your child be at as many practices as possible. It’s not too late to become a part of this program, which will be performed on Sunday Evening, December 14, at 7 pm, with refreshments to follow.
For questions, please contact Tere Sharp.
On Wednesday, November 12, from 5 ~ 6 pm Pastor Steve is inviting all interested folks to meet in the "Prayer Room" to formulate a plan to provide Grief Support for folks in or outside the church. Five ~ six people have expressed interest in this effort and three people have expressed interest in leading the group. This may not be the time or day of week that the church provides this group, but this is a planning meeting to get started.
Here at SRBC, we collect a Fellowship Offering on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This offering is used for emergency needs and financial assistance for those in need. This has been a great ministry of our church through the years, and we just want to remind you that we are continuing to collect this offering. We will focus on the offering on the 3rd Sunday, but you may give at any time.
Our youth are excited to host the 2nd Annual Friendsgiving on Sunday, November 16 at 6 PM! A fun evening filled with delicious food, games, laughter, and gratitude. Invite your friends and come celebrate friendship and all of God’s blessings together! See Youth leaders for further details.

In addition to bringing great joy to millions of boys and girls in need, gifts are accompanied by the Good News of Jesus Christ. Please join us as we fill shoeboxes this year. At the back of the sanctuary, you will find boxes, information on how to pack a box, labels and even a coloring sheet for your child to fill out and put in the box.
Boxes will be picked up on November 23, 2023
We hope you can make this a family project
The Pastoral Search Committee is bringing a Pastoral Candidate and his family to the church for you to meet and to hear him preach the weekend of November 15th and 16th. On Saturday, the 15th, there will be a luncheon meet and greet at the church, and he will preach on Sunday morning. A vote on the candidate will follow at the Sunday Worship service on November 23rd. We cherish your continued prayers for our church and this candidate and ask that you would prioritize attending the luncheon on November 15th and Worship on the 16th and 23rd if at all possible
All military veterans, past and present, are our invited guests to a special luncheon that will be held after church on Sunday, November 9.
Please sign up on the sheet at the Connection Center and plan to attend this meal given in appreciation for your service to our country.
