One Friday, in a break from work, the teacher asked her students to write the nicest thing they could about each other and hand it in. She compiled the results for each student and, on Monday, gave out the lists.
Several years later, Mark was killed in Vietnam. After the funeral, many classmates gathered with Mark’s parents and Sister Mrosia for lunch. Mark’s father took a wallet out of his pocket. “They found this on Mark when he was killed,” he said. He carefully removed a folded, refolded, and taped paper — on which the teacher had listed the good things Mark’s classmates had said about him.
Other students responded. Charlie smiled sheepishly and said, “I keep my list in my
desk drawer.”
Chuck’s wife said, “Chuck put his in our wedding album.”
“I have mine, too, in my diary,” Marilyn said.
Vicky reached into her pocketbook and brought out her frazzled list.
- John Trent, Choosing to Live the Blessing
I know that you all have made many days brighter by the kind words you have offered to me and I would hope that I have done the same for you.
Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up, according to their needs, that it may benefit those
who listen.”
With Love,
Pastor Scott

Fall is here! Fall is here! That means Awana is off and running. We’re playing, singing, learning, and changing all while learning about God's word. Club kicked off Wednesday, September 4th. We welcomed new clubbers, and past clubbers to begin our 21st year of Club with us, how awesome is that! Clubbers have been arriving hungry for God, friends, fellowship with leaders, and all of the awesome things that Awana has to offer this year.
Wednesday, September 18, clubbers represented their schools wearing their colors for our 1st theme night of the year, school colors night.
Our theme night for October will be Hat Night. Clubbers and leaders can wear their favorite hat to Club that night and earn points for the Awana store.
On the 30th we will have a special fall fun night. Our season of giving will kick off as we ask clubbers to fill shoeboxes for OCC and bring in non-perishable food to help re-stock our food pantry for the holidays.
Thank you to all the faithful leaders and volunteers creating the opportunity each week!
We ask that you continue to fulfill your very important role in Club by praying for everyone involved in Club each week.
Thank you for your continued support in this ministry!
Kids matter to God, and us!

International Ministries, also known as the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, works cross-culturally to invite people to become disciples of Jesus Christ and to proclaim, through both word and deed, God’s reign of justice, peace and abundant life for all creation.
1. Inviting people to be disciples of Jesus Christ
2. Proclaiming God’s reign of justice, peace and abundant life
3. Equipping the body of Christ to engage in God’s mission
Four Distinctives of IM
1. We respond to God’s call as Jesus taught us and as the Holy Spirit leads us
IM seeks to embody the example of Jesus who met the poor and marginalized where they lived. We align with the creative power and still small voice of the Holy Spirit embodied in our global servants and partners.
2. It is with flexibility, focus and investment that our work centers on persons
and partnerships
We focus on discipleship and education, work for peace and justice, advocate for those caught in human trafficking and global slavery, nurture economic and community development and offer opportunities for all to participate in our work. Our faith and openness to innovation drives us.
3. Global Servants sustain and fuel our mission movement
Our dynamic, relational and incarnational global servants are answering the call. They are deciphering global need and helping to usher in God’s reign of peace where justice prevails, through their sacrificial and transformative ministries. They have accessed a unique call on their lives to grow and steward our mission.
4. We’ve been responding for centuries
We are the oldest Baptist international mission agency in North America, true to the Gospel, faithfully innovating and sharing God’s love. IM has both connectedness to heritage and creative exploration and inventiveness in ministry
