on what a joy it is to be part of a Christian community. There is something special about gathering together as the people of God, whether inside a sanctuary or beneath an
open sky. In a world that often encourages isolation and independence, God reminds us that we were created to live in fellowship with Him and with one another.
As we worship alongside our fellow believers week after week, we become accustomed to the rhythms of each other’s lives. We learn one another’s stories. We walk alongside one another. Over time, acquaintances become friends, and friends become brothers and sisters in Christ.
This shared life is exactly what Scripture calls us to.
Paul writes in Romans 12:15, “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” The Christian community is more than simply attending the same service; it is entering into one another’s joys and sorrows. In doing so, we learn to love one another as Christ has loved us.
What struck me after our outdoor service was how naturally these relationships strengthen our worship. Conversations before and after the service, shared meals, prayers, laughter, and even tears remind us of God's faithfulness at work in the lives of His people. As we become more aware of what God is doing among us, our worship becomes more heartfelt and more sincere.
Corporate worship is not merely a gathering of individuals who happen to be in the same place at the same time. It is God's people responding together to His goodness. Seeing children enjoy face painting and the bouncy house, families sharing a meal, and church members lingering in conversation long after the service reminded me that our worship extends beyond the songs we sing. God uses these moments of fellowship to encourage our hearts and give us fresh reasons to praise Him.
With love and gratitude for each of you,
Pastor Elliott Rinehart
