There is a little song based on this verse that many of us have probably sung: “This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.” When I hear that song, as recorded by Keith Green, playing in the car, I find myself bobbing my head and stomping my foot. There is something exhilarating about remembering that God has made today and that I have a purpose within
his day.
The words here are, “This is the day.” Not yesterday. Or tomorrow. But today.
Every morning is another day that God has given us. We already know what is waiting for us when we get out of bed: work, responsibilities, problems to solve, and people who need our attention. We may even wake up knowing that today is going to be difficult.
Yet, in the midst of the challenges of today, we can give this day to God, recognize that He has given it to us, and find joy in it. Whatever today brings,
it is still a day that the Lord has made. And because He has given us this day, we can choose to live it for Him.

As we welcome the month of October, there is much to look forward to at SRBC! Our AWANA program is in full swing and meets each Wednesday evening at 6:05 PM. Each week, our children enjoy a time of fellowship, games, music, and Bible teaching as they grow in their understanding of God’s Word.
Club kicked off Wednesday, September 9th. We welcomed new Clubbers, and past clubbers to begin our 23rd year of Club, how awesome is that! Clubbers have been arriving hungry for God, friends, fellowship with leaders, and all of the awesome things that Awana has to offer this year. Wednesday, September 23, clubbers came to club representing their schools, wearing their colors for our 1st theme night of the year, Spirit Night.
Our season of giving will kick off this month as we ask clubbers to fill shoeboxes for OCC and bring in non-perishable food to help re-stock our food pantry for the holidays.
We are grateful for the opportunity to encourage and equip the next generation as they grow in their faith and relationship with Christ. We look forward to all that God has in store this fall!
Thank you to all the faithful leaders and volunteers creating the opportunity each week!
We ask that you continue to fulfill your very important role in club by praying for everyone involved in Club each week.
Thank you for your continued support in this ministry!
Kids matter to God, and us!
Cool with Christ
