Hello Awana Family,

     This is a busy time of the year with clubbers working hard to finish sections in their books, learning verses, and having lots of fun in club.  We also have a lot of fun club events and activities going on this month; we hope that you and your clubber(s) will have fun participating with us in these events and activities.

MISSION PROJECT
     We have been collecting Nickels & Dimes in a special Awana Bank each 2nd Wednesday of each month. The money raised will go to our Awana Missionaries to help support the work they do to help reach kids with the gospel of Christ. Please encourage your clubber to bring in some change for the bank as we will present the monies raised to our missionaries Wednesday March 15 as they will be visiting and assisting us with the race.

 GRAND PRIX 2017 RACE
     Awana Grand Prix is coming soon!! Our annual Grand Prix Race is coming on Wednesday, March 15.
 A couple of things you need to know...
1. Your clubber has probably come home the last few weeks with a Grand Prix car kit...you can start sanding, shaping, painting,   
 shining and lubricating...directions are in the kit. If your clubber
 has not received a car kit, PLEASE get one this week from
Co-Commander Michelle before or after club.
Hurry time is short!
2. Check in night is next Wednesday, March 8th during club. All racers must bring their cars in for Technical inspection (weighed, measured & checked in). Once registered, all cars will be     impounded by our Commanders until after the Grand Prix. Awards will be given for design and speed. Adults can race as well, bring your car.
3. Wednesday, March 15th is race day. Dinner is @ 5:30 for $2 per person, race starts at 6:05 pm.
4. Puggles & Cubbies do not need to purchase car kits they will be racing special cars in their racing class.
*Note: Parents can purchase, create, and race or show a car in this year’s event, hurry & purchase your car and enter it soon!
     Clubbers, Invite your Families, & friends to come cheer you on for this fun racing event. We would love to have them come and join us for this fun time of fellowship and competition.

GRAND PRIX CAR CLINIC
     Need help getting your prize car ready for the upcoming race? We’re having a "Pit Party" on Sunday, March 12th from 4:30-6 pm, to assist you in getting your car ready for the race. There will be no club activities that night other than helping prepare cars so Parents are requested to stay with their clubber during this time.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) 2017 
July 16-July 21  SAVE THE DATE!!!
VBS 2017 will be held July 16-July 21 (Sunday – Friday)!
Where we will help Kids Discover The Invisible Wonders of God by turning them into Galactic Starveyors! Your kids will enjoy life-changing worship, missions, projects, games, crafts, Bible fun and much more! Mark your calendars for this Galactic space adventure! Registration begins June 1st!

WINTER CANCELLATION POLICY FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
     Winter is here, if bad weather persists on a Wednesday, the staff will meet together and decide by 3pm if Awana and all other activities will be cancelled. Please check your email after 3 pm and/or check channel 2 or 7 for church cancellation notices to find out if we’re still having Awana and bible study.  Closing of Your Clubbers School Does Not Mean That Church Activities Are Cancelled!  You can also call the church office for information.
   
Please remember if you do not have a church home, you are invited to join us on Sunday’s at 9:15 for Sunday school and/or 10:30 for church services. We would love for your family to join us!
 
CEDARMANIA 2017
Clubbers grades 6th – 12th are invited to attend Cedarmania.  
A one-day event (March 18, 2017 from 10 am - 4 pm) designed
to challenge junior high and high school students (Grades 6 –
12) spiritually, provide them with fun activities, and acquaint them with Cedarville University, thru fun lessons, praise songs, crazy games, engaging speakers, and lots of fun. See Mr. Tere for further details.  Parents must RSVP by Next Wednesday March 8 for your clubber to attend.

22 – NERD FOR GOD’S WORD NIGHT – dress like a “Smartie”
29 – $5 DOLLAR BILL NIGHT – Possibly win $5 for saying verses.
