Hello Awana Family,
What an exciting year we have had so far! October was a busy and eventful month. We have been busy studying, learning bible verses, playing cool games, and eating yummy snacks. Our hearts are bursting with joy for what your clubbers have accomplished recently. Many of the clubbers have completed their start zones and moved into their regular handbooks earning them their very first uniform. Congratulations to all, what an awesome job, keep up the Great work!
Newsletters go home the 1st Wednesday of each month, be sure your clubber reads them, they are full of important information about club, life, and can provide them with bonus points for the Awana Store.
Messy Church- Tuesday, November 14, 5:30 – 7 pm
Looking for a way to connect to God, not sure regular church will fit? Want to find a place your family can do activities and eat supper together? Try Messy Church. An activity and celebration opportunity that meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 - 7 p.m., Includes crafts, music, prayer and celebration time. Then we eat supper together. There’s no cost, no dress code and no age limit. Come check it out.
*Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO AWANA EACH WEEK?
Weekly Awana Checklist:
Bible, Uniform, Sneakers, Dues (50¢ per wk.), Handbook with at least one section ready,
bonus: theme night participation, monthly newsletter questions!
Game Time - Dress for Success When deciding what to wear to Club
Remember games may include running, sitting, crawling, rolling, jumping, crab-walking, or lying
on the floor. For safety, sneakers are required to participate in Game Time.
Please remember if you do not have a church home you are more than welcome to worship with us on Sunday mornings! We have worship services at 10:30 am. Sunday school for all ages at 9:15 am and children’s church for preschool through 5th grade during the 10:30 am service. A nursery is available during both hours. We hope you will join us!
Did you know: that many of our children (in Grades K-6) have been rehearsing for our Christmas program since October 1? We will be presenting our program on December 10th @ 7 pm, mark your calendars and join us for this Christmas event.
A VERY HAPPY NOVEMBER BIRTHDAY TO THESE MEMBERS OF OUR AWANA FAMILY: 1 – Andrew R, 18 – Alex M, 20 – Anniston S, 25 – Maliyah J., *If we missed one, please let us know.
If your clubber is in the Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks and/or TnT clubs at the conclusion of AWANA each Wednesday, please come into the building to pick your child up. We do this for your child’s safety so we know who is picking them up and so they are not standing in the Foyer waiting for someone to pick them up. Please be sure your child knows who is picking them up.
With winter right around the corner, if bad weather persists on a Wednesday, PLEASE check your email after 3 pm and/or check Channel 2 or 7 for Church cancellation notices to find out if we’re still having Awana and Bible study.

* wear or bring theme-related items to earn points for the Awana store.
Theme nights are a fun part of AWANA. Often on these nights, clubbers dress up based on what the theme of the night is and receive store points for participation.

the needy for the holidays.

SICKNESS AND ILLNESS
To help us provide a healthy environment for our children and volunteers, we ask that you keep your child at home when any of the following symptoms have occurred within the last 24 hours:
• illness that prevents your child from comfortably participating in program activities.
• runny nose with colored discharge (green or yellow) accompanied by a fever.
• fever - a temperature greater than 100 degrees (without fever-reducing medication).
• vomiting and/or diarrhea; symptom free for 24 hours.
• any communicable disease.
• sore throat.
• streptococcal pharyngitis (“strep throat”) until 24 hours after treatment has been initiated.
• croup, excessive coughing, chest congestion or sneezing.
• child hood diseases (chicken pox, mumps, etc.).
• drainage or redness that could possibly be considered conjunctivitis (“pink eye”).
• head lice or nits within the past 24 hours.
• questionable skin rash (that is contagious). Localized rashes such as prickly heat, eczema and
diaper rash are not contagious.
If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should have received treatment for a minimum of 24 hours before attending Awana or any children’s ministry event.
We understand that, in some cases, illness may present themselves suddenly. If a child shows signs of illness (above symptoms), a parent or guardian will be contacted immediately so that you may take your child home to care for them.

- This month we’re doing our two annual fall outreach projects.
the first is a food drive to help the hungry in our area. All items will go into our Church pantry. and then be distributed to local families in need. Bring your nonperishable food items to the check-in table, and then watch our donations grow & the shelves fill up!! - Secondly, we’re participating in the “shoebox” project again this holiday season, helping Samaritan’s Purse deliver these donated items to needy children around the world. Shoeboxes are due by November 15! So what are you waiting for? Start packing those shoe boxes and bring in your food donations! We know the Lord will honor your efforts as you show His love to those in our community AND those around the world! (Empty shoe boxes needing to be filled are located in the Foyer).
