February 2024
Parent Newsletter
Class valentine parties are scheduled for Wednesday, February 14th. Teachers will be putting out signup sheets for that day.
Conferences are scheduled Thursday, February 15th and Friday, February 16th. Teachers will also have a sign up for that. There is no school on those days. If you need to bring your student or siblings, just let us know. We will put some toys out for them. We also offer phone conferences as well. It’s important to see where your child stands academically and see what needs to be worked on.
Continuation forms will be available at conferences. If you plan to have your child return, please fill one out. We do require a $50 nonrefundable deposit to hold your child’s spot for Fall 2024. Current students get priority for next school year. Open registration for the general public will begin Friday, March 1st.
No school on Monday, February 19th in honor of Presidents Day.
God Bless,
Carol Boersma, Preschool Director
Hello,
Happy Valentine’s Day! This month we are going to go over the letter H, F, D, and X. Our theme for the first couple weeks will be Valentine related. We will go over the heart shape and the color pink.
February is national children’s dental health month so I thought it would be fun to do a theme on dental health and the body the second half of the month.
Our Valentines party will be on the 14th. I will have a signup sheet for snacks by the door. You can bring valentine cards in for the party. They just need to write who it is from not who it is going to.
We will make bags in class for them to put their cards in.
We have parent teacher conference on the 15th and 16th there is no school on those days. I am going to have a signup sheet by the door for you to choose a time. Please let me know if you will have a child with you so I can sit something out for them to do. No school on February 19th due to Presidents Day.
February can be a snowy month so watch for any delays or closings we might have. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thanks, Mrs. McElroy
Happy February!
As we continue on with the school year we will continue with the letters D, G, L, F, & B; numbers 15, 16, 17, & 18; colors purple, pink, white, and red, hearts and introduce diamond.

Happy Valentine’s! It’s hard to believe we are heading into February already, but here we are.
We are going to start getting busy again. This month will probably go by very quickly with a lot of things planned. I will be starting the month with doing individual assessments on the kids to prepare for our parent teacher conferences mid-February.
We will have our Valentine’s Day Party on Wednesday the 14th. The kids will be exchanging Valentine’s, and I would encourage you to have the kids write their names themselves on them. This will be great practice for them! More details for this will be posted to Class Dojo when it gets closer to the day.
It may not seem like it now, but the end of the school year will be here before we know it and we still have a lot of material to cover. While we are seeing lots of growth in the kids (and that is so encouraging), you reinforcing what we are doing in the classroom is where the knowledge really gets cemented into the kids. This is a fast-paced classroom and that is only possible because of your help.
You are all rock star parents and I appreciate you so much.
Please continue to look at Class Dojo for updates from me. Class Dojo is my primary source for communication with you. If we have any inclement weather, I will post our status on there as soon as I know.
The rest of the school year is going to pass by us in no time. We have a lot of fun activities planned in the upcoming months that we are excited for. We are so encouraged with all the kids and the improvement we have seen. And knowing more improvement will still happen, is so exciting. Let’s all keep up the amazing work!
With Love,
Ms. Nowak and Mrs. Martell
