It’s amazing how fast this school year went.
I feel like we just had orientation and now we are just weeks away from saying goodbye for the summer.
May is one busy month for us!
Thank you for an amazing school year. We are so thankful for our families! We hope everyone has
a wonderful summer and I can’t wait to see everyone
is the fall.
To our Pre-K families, you did it!! We will miss you all and your student, but we know they are going to have an amazing time in kindergarten.

Trike A Thon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1st. Our rain date is Monday, May 6th.
Tuition is due Friday, May 3rd.
If you did not receive your child’s envelope, then you are
paid in full.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th-10th.

Muffins with Mom is scheduled for Friday,
May 10th at 11:15.
Field day is scheduled for Monday, May 13th.
Pre-K graduation is scheduled for Monday, May 20th.
Our last day of school is Wednesday, May 22nd.
Each class will have a last-day Luau party!

Hello everyone,
I can’t believe it is already the end of the school year. May will be busy and go fast.
Our themes for the month will be the Zoo and the ocean/beach.
We have a lot of fun things planned for this month I will have more information about each activity closer to the time.
May 1st will be our Trike A Thon if it rains the date will be May 6th. Our class will participate from 9-9:30. We will have popsicles afterward. Sign-up sheet will be posted on board.
May 10th will be our Muffins with Mom.
May 13th Field Day, I will need volunteers for this also.
May 22nd is our last day of school, and we will celebrate with a Luau Party.
Thank you for having your children in my class. I have really enjoyed teaching them.
They have all grown and learned so much since the beginning of the year.

Hello! Hello!
Here we are getting down to the end of the school year! This is where things move
very quickly!
We start off May with the Trike-a-thon, (For the trike-a-thon, please have them bring whatever they ride at home that is similar to a bicycle and BRING their helmets.)
Then Muffins with Mom, field day, and then move on with the last day luau!

Ms. Nowak and Mrs. Martell’s Pre-K

It is hard to believe that we are now at the end of the school year, but here we are! It feels like just yesterday we started school.
The kids have all grown so much and exceeded all expectations. We are incredibly proud of each kid.
This month is going to be in full blown cheetah speed (I use this term with my own kids). We will be having a lot of things happening, Trike-A-Thon, Field Day, Preschool graduation, and Last Day Luau Party. I cannot stress this enough, but please keep
an eye on Class Dojo in the next couple of weeks. A lot of information will be on there for you.

We will be finishing up our alphabet and our numbers up to 25, as well as adding in weeks of review. We will continue to work on other concepts – simple adding, sequencing, comparing, patterns, and rhyming.
     The kids have proved repeatedly that they are ready for kindergarten in the fall and while we are sad to see them leave, we also excited for their new adventures and all the new knowledge they will gain.
     A lot of information will be thrown at you in the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
     As we are at the end of the year, we want to take this opportunity to thank you, the parents. You have supported the kids throughout the year and we are incredibly grateful for that. Thank you for coming together with us to make sure the kids are fully prepared for kindergarten. We would not be as successful as we are without you. So thank you for all you have done this school year.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and break.
It truly is hard to believe that we are already into
the month of April. Here are just a few reminders:

Payment envelopes will be sent home once we return from break. Tuition will be due by Wednesday, April 10th.
Preschool will not be in session on Monday, April 8th due to the eclipse.
Continuation forms - If you have already turned in your form and registration fee you are all set for the fall. Those who have not turned theirs in, please do as soon as possible to secure your child’s spot for this fall.
We’d like to thank everyone that participated in our Beavercreek Pizza Dive fundraiser.

We were able to raise $200.00. Our next fundraiser is a week long event at DiBella’s sub
on Zink Rd. Flyers will be sent home and the event is schedule for April 14th-20th.

Permission slips will be sent home mid-month for our trike a thon. Trike a thon is schedule for Wednesday, May 1st. Each child will need to bring in their bike and a helmet. Please send in a bike that your child is comfortable on. We ask that you not run out and purchase one, we will have the preschool bikes on hand if your child needs to borrow one. We do not have extra helmets and each child is require one to participate. The classes will all have the opportunity to ride around the parking lot. We do collect donations for SISCA and Ronald McDonald house. We also take items for the church food pantry. We do ask for volunteers for this event, so be on the lookout for that. Our rain date for the trike a thon is Monday, May 6th.

Hello,
     These last two months of school will go fast and be busy. This month our theme will be all about spring. We will talk about flowers, bugs, and weather. I will go over the letters R, H, V, U and K.
     We will talk about how caterpillars turn into butterflies, and we should have some in our class for the kids to watch and once they turn into butterfly’s we release them.
     Our class comes back from spring break on April 3rd .
We will have no school April 8th due to the Solar Eclipse.

Hello Spring,
     As we are getting closer to the end of the school year,
we continue with our letter v, w, x, & y. The numbers 21
thru 25.
     We will continue to practice our cutting skills, with even more cutting activities.
     No School April 8, the Librarian comes Wednesday, April 10 and Music with Pastor is Wednesday, April 17.

Happy Spring! I’m not sure about you, but I am so ready for the warmer weather to be here.
Please remember that while the weather is warming up, please continue to have the students bring a light jacket or hoodie. When we have our scheduled playtime, it can still be a little chilly and I would like to get the kids outside as much as possible.
     We will be getting into the full swing of things as we prepare to close out this school year (it will be here before any of us realize it!). We will continue working on our alphabet and numbers. We will also continue to work on some simple math, beginning sounds, missing letters and numbers, etc., as well as introducing sequencing.

On a personal note from Ms. Nowak…. April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month. As you all know, my son is Autistic, so this month is very personal and special to me. Awareness and acceptance are two very separate things. Awareness is easy – you just acknowledge someone is different then you and move on. Acceptance takes work, effort. Acceptance comes from a place of understanding – understanding that another classmate or person is different from you but still asking to play with them (or them with you), sitting with them at lunch and talking, just being a good friend to them and including them. As I have found through my son’s experiences, many school kids have a lack of knowledge about disorders such as Autism, and that lack of knowledge can lead to bullying or singling someone out all because they are the “weird kid.” As adults, we are aware of such disorders, but we often forget to talk to our children about them. As we go through this month, I urge you to talk to your children. Inform them. Educate them. Encourage them to be a friend to the “weird kid”. Encourage them to be a friend to everyone even when their likes don’t align. Talk to them and reassure them that it is OK for people to be different and develop different.
If you have any questions, I am always willing to talk. I don’t have all the right answers, but I can definitely share my family’s story. There is a meme on Facebook that says “I am not an expert on autism.
     I am an expert on MY CHILD with autism” and that is 100% correct.
