This is going out early so you have time to read and be prepared for January 3, our first day back for Pre-K students that come 4 or 5 days and January 4th for the MWF students
What promising gifts a new year brings. An entire year’s worth of wonderful opportunities given to us one sunrise at a time. We hope your family has a wonderful Christmas Holiday.
We will recharge and be ready to get back to school. Every day is exciting for us with young children. We marvel at how they are growing and happy to share in their discovery of new experiences and accomplishments. They grow so fast and learn so much in these young years.
We are in the cold and flu season. If your child has any of the usual signs associated with a virus, please keep them home. It is difficult to concentrate on class activities when you are not feeling good. We also have expectant Moms and families with newborns or very young children that should not be exposed unnecessarily to these viruses. Remember to call the office when your child is going to be absent. We care about our students and want to know when they are not feeling good. It also helps us explain to their classmates when one of their friends is not in class.
The Elder Beerman Community Booklet Sale profits were $575.00. This gives us $200. for one new commercial bike and $375. divided equally between the 3 classrooms. They each get $125. to spend on items they think their students will like. I have asked each Teacher to make a list of the items they
purchase. We appreciate your hard work in helping us achieve this goal.

Pre-Ks
Dear Preschool Parents,
January is here and that means it’s “back–to-school” time once again. I trust you had a great holiday with your loved ones and enjoyed the Spirit of Christmas.
It was such a blessing to hear and see the meaning of Christmas in your children’s voices and faces during our “Journey Back to Bethlehem” program. Thank you to all who were able to attend and enjoy the students’ performances.
As second semester begins, keep encouraging your child to do their best. Some students still
need to earn their phone number sticker, so check their big crayon chart to see where
your child stands. We will begin right away with our address, so work on that
at home. This month we will be working on recognizing our last name, starting
the teen family (10-19) number, letters, blended letters and patterns.
Our time will fly as did first semester, so hold on tight and
enjoy the learning.

Early Beginners
Happy New Year! We hope that you and your family enjoyed this wonderful holiday season. Now it is time to focus
on the joys of winter.
This month we will do crafts pertaining to snowmen, polar bears, mittens and winter. We will continue to work on our social skills sharing, communicating and self help skills such as: cleaning up after ourselves and getting our coats on and off. We will continue to work on fine motor skills by cutting play dough and straight lines for starters.
Our class will continue the process of learning the alphabet and numbers. This month our letters will be L, M and N,
the number 5 and the color blue. We will do different craft projects that will reinforce these letters, number and color.
Warm Winter Blessings,
Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Schroder
Middlers
Oh, the fun to be had in January with snowmen and snowflakes at the top of our list. We will make them in several
different creative ways.
The alphabet is coming along as we will focus on S, J, P and Q. Shapes will be a topic to talk about and create
projects with. As we work thru January, we will try our hand at patterning and tracing, check their bags to see what
we are doing.
We continue to encourage our class to write their names on their work. We have just a few hours each class period to work on this. May you can offer some special encouragement at home to help them accomplish this skill.
Social skills are very important. As we move through the school year, we continue to talk about how to respect and be kind to others, sharing and taking care of our classroom toys and books. We all know how important it is to say “please
and thank you” this is something we stress every day. It would help if you could reminded your child to use their manners
on a daily basis.
January 16th is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, in observance of his memory we will not have school on that day.
Please check your child’s school bag for papers, art work and notes. Remember to have a change of winter clothes
in the bag such as: pants and long sleeve shirt along with the usual socks and underwear.
Blessings Throughout 2017,
Mrs. Karmele and Mrs. Wolodkiewicz
