Parents’ Page – October 2019
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations,
“The Lord reigns!” 1 Chronicles 16:31
From Your Administrator – Mia Lynch
We are off to a great start! The school is full of happy voices playing and learning together.
The classroom activities and schedules are becoming familiar. We want to thank you for helping your child with this new routine. Your child’s teacher has carefully planned their class schedules so the children will have a wonderful preschool experience. We want to encourage prompt arrivals both in the morning and at pick-up. Students feel the most comfortable when they all arrive and leave at the same time. I also have other duties to attend too after the car drop-offs and pick-ups. I will leave the drop-off at 8:40 a.m. and you will have to bring your child in after that time. The same goes for afternoon pick-up if you come after 12:00 p.m. you will have to come in and pick-up with a late charge.
This month will be filled with many new experiences for the students. As the colors of autumn makes their appearance. It will be time to go on neighborhood walks and to create things with their collections of leaves, nuts and twigs. Please make sure you have signed any necessary permissions slips.
We know children look forward to Halloween, the Church does not like for children to come to school
in costumes, so to get around this and still have a fun time we have a Fall Celebration. We need volunteers for all the classrooms to make this a success. Please let the Teachers know if you can help n Festival day.
It is important for parents to be involved as much as possible. A long standing tradition at Spin-Kemp is Women’s and Men’s Nights. This was designed so you can go to class with your child and get a glimpse of the routine, crafts, circle time and songs the children sing. The first of these two nights will be Oct. 21st for the mothers. Because this is an evening class for mother and child we do not have morning classes on this day
It can get quite confusing in the morning when teachers are talking to so many parents. It is difficult to remember important information they receive. Please give the teachers a written note with anything you would like for them to know for the day so they can refer back to it after the students have settled in.
FYI - We have some specific rules the students are taught regarding the large climbing equipment. They are never allowed to climb on the outside walls of the equipment or touch the ceiling tiles. We consider this dangerous and a fall from that height could cause a serious injury. We don’t mind the student playing on the climber at the end of the day but they must respect the rules and be supervised by parents.
It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks for scholastic book orders to arrive. I didn’t place an order in September so our first order will go out in October. The scholastic website allows you to place your order on line if you wish and the send the books to school to be distributed. You may also order through the school with the flyers in your tuition envelope. No cash please, it must be a check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs.
HAPPY, HAPPY OCTOBER BIRTHDAY

CLASSROOM NEWS
Beginners
Now we are getting into the swing of things. For October we will go over the number 2, letters d, e, & f and the color orange. We haven’t heard back from the fire station yet but hopefully we will have a visit from them sometime this month. We will be going across the street for a Kroger visit, the Librarian will be visiting, Pastor will come down with his guitar to assist us in some children’s Christian songs and we will have our Fall Festival. We need lots of help with the festival and Kroger so we have sign-up sheets for both events.
Mom’s Night is Monday, October 21st from 6:30 p.m.-8:00p.m. because this is regarded as an evening class for Mom and Child we will not have a morning class on that day. We do a couple of crafts, introduce you to circle time and have a small snack. If you have any questions please ask.
Thank you and God Bless

Happy fall! Wow this is a wonderful season to celebrate. Please dress your child to match the weather of the day. We do enjoy playing outside in the fresh, crisp air.
As we work our way through October, the focus will be on the number two, the letters C, D & E and a review at the end of all we have learned. We will also be making seasonal crafts. On a daily basis we are working with the students on recognizing and writing their names.
As we come to class every day we will be sharing lessons from God on how to treat others with respect and kindness this includes caring for and sharing our toys. We have ongoing discussions at circle time on how to help others, being self-sufficient, and classroom duties. The students are also instructed each and every day on when to listen, when it’s OK to have conversations and how to follow directions.
This month is Fire Safety Month. We have asked the Fire Department to stop by and give us a lesson in fire safety. They have not confirmed a date with at this time. As soon as we know, we will pass the date on to you.
Columbus Day is a national holiday and this year falls on Monday, October 14th. We will not have school on this day but will see you on Tuesday, October 15th,
Our annual Women’s Night will be Monday, October 21st from 6:30 p.m. -8 p.m. You will be able to come to preschool and enjoy participating in some fun activities with your child. Because this is considered a class, we will not have class that morning.
We are planning our field trip to Kroger for October 23rd. Parents are encouraged to come this is their first fieldtrip out of the building and it would be helpful to them to have their Moms along. If you have younger children they are welcome to along with us.
A Fall Festival Celebration is at the end of the month! We need lots of volunteers to help with this event. There will be games and face painting and more hands we can get to help us the more successful it will be. Watch for a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions and or concerns. We are here for the students and parents. Learning is a partnership with parents and teachers so there always has to be open communication between the two to make it work.

Happy Fall to everyone! We are looking forward to a little cooler weather. Make sure your child dresses for the changing weather as we explore the seasonal changes outside. We will be going on a
“Fall Walk” later in the month to enjoy all the colors of the season.
The first month of school started off with a bang! Continue to bring your listening ears and your caring hearts to school daily as we find new friends and adventures along the way.
October will bring a trip to Kroger, Women’s Night, a visit from the Fire Department (as of now, we do not have a date from them as to when they will be here. We will keep you informed when we have a set time for their visit) and our Fall Festival! Keep checking those tote bags for important information.
We will need lots of volunteers for our Kroger trip and the Fall Festival. The more volunteers we have the better the events will be successful.
Enjoy the season of autumn and all God’s beauty it will bring.
God is good,
Mrs. Bange, Mrs. Nowak and Mrs. Turner
Parent,
I want you to know I am very easy to get a hold of by email. I check my gmail account several times a day during school hours and a number of times in the evenings at home. If you ever have a question or want me to know a student won’t be in the follow day send me an email. I know in this day and age everyone is into texting but I am not into that form of communicating. My husband uses text and has been trying to drag me into the 21st century for years but I still like to hear a human voice or read what someone has to say.
