We hope that the children are enjoying getting back into a routine here at Spin-Kemp. I want to thank you for all being patient with us as this school year is definitely different than we have ever seen.
We will be closed on September 7th for Labor Day.
We would also like to welcome one more new teacher. Mrs. Lewis will be teaching the M,W,F Pre-K class. We are super excited to have her join us.
Just a few policy reviews that we might have missed.
Doors open at 8:25. Teachers will be meeting your child at their specific entrance
for temperature checks. Please be on time. This is very important. The teacher will
be collecting her students and then heading into class to begin working. We’d hate for
your child to miss out on any part of their day here. We will be closing the doors at 8:40.
If your child is late, please bring them to the office for a temperature check and then we
will walk them to class.
All forms must be turned in by the first day of school.
Payments are due on the 5th of each month. Each child will have an envelope that is sent home. Please put your checks in that, the teachers will collect them. If you need to pay in cash, please bring it to the front office. We will give you a receipt of your payment. Our late fees is $25.00. If tuition is not paid in two weeks, your child will be dropped from the class.
Please enter on Burkhardt and exit on Spinning Road.
Please let anyone that picks up or drops off that this is our flow of traffic.
Please send your child in shoes that they can run and play in. We do use the large playroom and go outside. We certainly wouldn’t want anyone to slip and fall.
Sneakers are a must!
We encourage our kids to read. Scholastic is a great way to grow your library. We will send the forms home, but no pressure to purchase. We primarily stick to online orders and then the books are sent to the school. We have a special code that you will use for those online orders.
I have included a calendar for the year. Normally, our calendar is filled with visitors and parties. Sadly, because of COVID we are not able to invite those visitors to the building at this time. We are still in the process of thinking how we can have a fall festival that is safe for the children. Please keep in mind that the calendars are tentative.
Since we are a non-profit, we rely on donations. We are always in need of Clorox wipes, paper towels, baby wipes, sterilite shoe boxes (Walmart sells these for less than a dollar
a piece), hand sanitizer and Kleenex. We have asked each teacher to create a wish list
via amazon for items they would like for their classroom. Please be on the lookout for that
in the future.
We are looking into having spirit night at local restaurants. We currently have one scheduled for October 16th at the City BBQ in Beavercreek. We will let you know when other ones will be happening.
We would love to celebrate your child’s birthday in school. Please arrange with your child’s teacher if you’d like to bring in a small class treat. Remember that it must be individually wrapped snacks. We will offer the children water with their snacks.
HAPPY SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY

CLASSROOM NEWS
Welcome all parents and students! I hope everyone had a great summer! I am so excited to have your child in my class and I’m looking forward to a great year with them!
A little about me, my name is Alexis Kidd. I am from Dayton Ohio. I’m 28 years old, married to my husband Kevin and we have three daughters. My husband, his siblings, and our oldest two went to preschool at Spin Kemp. Our youngest is currently in the middlers class this year. All my girls arein Awana through the church and attend VBS every year. Our family has always loved this school /church and recommend it to everyone. Last year, I was a substitute for Middlers class and I’m thrilled to be teaching this year!
I do want to point out that our classroom, drop off and pick up will look different this year due to safety and social distancing. Please familiarize yourself to our new arrival and dismissal routine. Our first day will be August 31st. I will be encouraging a lot of socializing since we lost so much due to the pandemic. We will be working on getting to know each other, classroom behavior as well as our daily routine. I will be introducing/reviewing numbers, letters, shapes, colors, tracing, counting, cutting and recognizing /spelling their names. We will be doing lots of arts, crafts, learning games, music, creative play and fine motor skills. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime! Thank you so much looking forward to seeing all of you!
With Love,
Mrs.Kidd
Hello Everyone!!
I am so excited to start this school year, even with everything going on. So things will
be a little different than usual. We will still do our learning with September having the
letters A, B, & C, the
Number 1, the color blue, and learning about the square. As we continue through the year we will add to what we know.
September will be a month of “Hello!” and “Nice to meet you!” but also one of apples, farms, the color yellow, the letters A & B, and the number 1. Expectations will be explained and rules will be introduced. We will dance, sing, paint, color, laugh and learn our way through this first month. We will read every day, both from a children’s bible and many of the educational books we have in our school.
We will try to play outside a little every day, so please dress your children accordingly.
I know we all love our pretty shoes and sandals, but please try and have your children wear closed toe shoes with athletic bottoms to help prevent falling or injury. Also, please make sure there is a change of clothes in your child’s bag (shirt, bottoms, underwear & socks) in case of an accident of any nature.
Love,
Miss. Schroder
Welcome back to school! September is looking like a busy month for our Pre-K kids. We will be spending our first week back reviewing our shapes and colors while working on our fine motor (cutting and gluing) skills. The second week of the month will start our letter of the week lessons. I would like to get the kids outside as much as I can for either play or academic work (doing work outside is always more fun!), so please be sure to send your kids with a light jacket if it looks to be on the cool side. In your child’s bag, is a Ziploc baggie and a note about sending in an extra set of clothes in case of an accident during the day. Please send these in as soon as possible for us to have on hand if anything were to happen. I am very excited for this year and I can’t wait to see all the kids in the classrooms again.
Love,
Mrs. Nowak
Welcome to Pre-K!
I am brand new to Spin-Kemp and I look forward to getting to know you all. My husband is in the Royal Australian Air Force and we are stationed here for a few years. I have a Bachelor in Special Education and a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood, and have taught in Georgia as well as back home. I love it here!
Our first month in Pre-K will be all about getting to know each other. We will explore names, families, how tall children are,
eye color, likes and dislikes, favorite colors, and the letters that start all our names. We will learn basic routines and develop
some expectations together.
I will do observations of the children, seeing what their strengths are, what great skills and knowledge they already have, what they enjoy, and where they most need to grow this year.
My email address is [email protected]. Since it will be a little harder to connect with families this year, I’d love to get a little intro email from you to get to know you,
and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Peace Be With You!
Mrs Lewis
God Bless,
