Dennis, from Katy, Texas, needed some same-day dry cleaning before he left on a trip. He remembered a store with a huge sign, “One-Hour Dry Cleaners,” on the other side of town, so he drove there to drop off a suit. After filling out the tag, he told the clerk, “I need this
in an hour.”
She said, “I can’t get this back to you until Thursday.” “I thought you did dry cleaning
in an hour.” “No,” she replied, “that’s just the name of the store.”
Likewise, we who say we are Christians but fail to act like the one whose name we bear create confusion and disillusionment for those who have yet to believe.
It may be true that some people will try to take advantage of you and challenge your Christianity just because you didn't do what they wanted you to do, and we shouldn't allow ourselves to be emotionally abused by manipulative people.
But still, I know the last thing I want to hear someone say is, “I thought you were a Christian!” May we all be determined to live out our lives in a way that would not contradict our identity as Christians and that no one would be disillusioned by a lifestyle that would dishonor our Savior.

AWANA meets every Wednesday evening at 6:05 pm. We have activities for 3 years old through High School, September through May. Come and join in the fun.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets in the Seekers class room every Tuesday Morning at 9:30 am to delve into God’s Word and enjoy fellowship with other Christian women. (Sept – May)
S. R. V. (SOUL REVOLUTION) is for 7th grade through High School. They meet every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm in the youth room downstairs across from the kitchen.
DISCOVERY COMMUNITY GROUP
This is for adults of all ages. Whether you have known Jesus for many years, or only
a few months this could be a group for you. We will be meeting twice a month on the
second and fourth Thursday at 7pm, at the home of Simon and Nancy Warwick.

S.A.S. (SENIORS AT SERVICE) ~ 1st Friday
Meet at 12:30 p.m. the first Friday of the month. The senior members of the church and friends meet at different restaurants for a dine-out. The next one is June 7 at Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen in Kettering. For more info, contact Shirley Fall @ 254-2484.
WOMEN’S BREAKFAST 2nd Saturday Join us as we resume Women’s breakfast after the first of the year for great food, a devotional time and good Christian fellowship with other ladies of the church.
TEAM AND CHURCH COUNCIL MEETINGS
Team meetings and Church Council meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month.
Team Meetings will start @ 7 pm and the Church Council Meeting @ 8 pm.

Messy Church is all about welcoming people of all ages to come and have fun together.
No one is too young or too old to join in. Expect a chance to be creative, exploring the theme of the day. Then what could be better than to celebrate together! Finally, everyone sits down to share and enjoy a meal. It’s all free and there is something for everyone. Why not come and join us?

Summer is coming! And so is SUMMER CHURCH CAMP! Children and youth are encouraged to attend summer church camp, a great way to get kids active, make new friends and grow your faith. Please contact Marla Richardson for further details.
AWANA MINUTE
After a wonderful 2018-19 club year, AWANA is on break for the summer. We will kick off the 2019-20 club year on Wednesday, September 4th. Have a great summer and hope to see everyone again in the fall!
MESSY CHURCH NEWS JUNE 2019
Once a month on a Tuesday from 5:30pm to 7pm, SRBC hosts Messy Church –
1 1/2 hours of fun, games, food and crafts. It's a great time for all the family and friends.
Our next Messy Church will be held Tuesday, June 11. Come and join us and get Messy!
Messy Church is about having time together to have fun, explore faith, worship God and have a meal. Messy Church aims to involve everyone, and values everyone and invites us to come together, make things together, eat together and celebrate God together. It is called Messy Church because you may get Messy! If you haven’t yet tried Messy Church, you are welcome to join us anytime. You can be involved as much or as little as you like! We welcome visitors as well as members, so give us a try. Hope to see you at our next Messy Church.
Children under 16 are welcome to come along with their parents or guardians; all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The closet cleaning scheduled for June 8, 2019 has been canceled due to other activities scheduled at that time. It will be re-scheduled in the fall.
PARKING LOT
With the weather beginning to change and days & nights becoming warmer and longer. To ensure the safety of our children, please Slow down and pay special attention entering, moving about, and exiting our parking lot. Sunday & Wednesdays in particular, there are many children in the parking lot, and we want to make sure that we are driving with caution at all times. Thank-you for being cautious in making sure all are safe.

Kids 3 yrs. (& potty trained by 6-1-19) thru those just completing 6th grade, get ready to explore God’s Word at the Watering Hole, sing amazing songs at Bull Frog Bog, play fun games at Beluga Bay, and so much more!

The purpose of One Great Hour of Sharing has remained the same: to collect special gifts to assist those in need. Contributions to One Great Hour of Sharing make a difference in the lives of people. Church World Service, with overseas partners are often the first on the scene following a disaster of natural or human origin. The needs of the people are identified and priorities are set to bring long-term solutions that will improve the quality of life for individuals and communities around the world. One Great Hour of Sharing, nearly 50 years old, continues to respond to needs equally critical as when it was first created.
