Food for thought- from an unknown source:
If you can start the day without caffeine... If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains...If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles...If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it...If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time...If you can take criticism and blame without resentment...If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend...If you can face the world without lies and deceit...If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, though no fault of yours, something goes wrong...If you can conquer tension without medical help...If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics...
Then my friend, you are almost as good as your dog.
While we know, of course, that a dog's intellect and emotion are not impacted by a fallen sinful nature and therefore not comparable to that of mankind, still it's loyalty and devotion make us ever aware of our own self-absorbed and arrogant tendencies. Rather than be more like our dogs,
our goal is to become more like the Man who took on our fallen state and died to take our punishment.
May we allow God's Holy Spirit to so indwell us that our humility raises us to emulate our Savior Jesus Christ, who is truly “man's best friend.”
“He that abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk.” (I John 2:6 KJV)
With love, Pastor Scott

February this year was truly not a typical snowy, wintery, icy month. It is hard to believe there are only a few months left in our AWANA year. The clubbers have been growing in their knowledge of Jesus and his love for them always.
- February 8 Clubbers brought in non-perishable foods to help refill our Church’s food pantry along with wearing their favorite sports gear for our soup ‘er bowl theme night.
- February 8 Sparks & TnT clubbers helped to color pages for the visit to the Manor across the street by SRBC’s Outreach team.
- February 22, we had fun playing glow in the dark games in the Fellowship Hall for Glow night.
- February 24, the Sparks grades K – 2 crashed the Church, ready to have fun. They came to experience their Sparks late Night out party, a night full of age-appropriate devotions, games, and activities geared for them to have lots of fun. Thank-you to all Leaders, and Lit’s, that helped to make this event fun!
- Clubbers are purchasing and working hard designing, creating, and getting their Grand Prix cars ready for the upcoming Grand Prix race on Wednesday March 15. The congregation, clubbers families & friends are invited to join us at the race! Come cheer on clubbers as they race their cars and show off what they’ve created for this fun event. If you are able to volunteer on the day of the race to set-up or take-down, please let Michelle or Tere know.
- Our leaders continue to bring joy, enthusiasm, and love to club each week and continue to make Awana a place that kids love.
Cool with Christ,

The Messiah in the Passover presentation is a powerful visual message not only of Israel’s freedom from slavery in Egypt, but of the redemption of the individuals from bondage through sin through the atoning work of Jesus. This program is designed to give participants a deeper understanding both of the Passover and of the Communion table.
Please join us for this presentation on
March 26, 2023 at 10:30 am.

You do not have to knock on doors, just simply volunteer to take a few blocks and help spread the word about our church. Please plan to take part. The canvas will take place on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 am. Hope to see you there!

Thanks to America for Christ (AFC) Offering contributions, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) supported communities distressed by the devastation of COVID-19 last year, as the pandemic swept our country and Puerto Rico. We also helped families who lost homes to floods, wildfires, and storms, along with children living on the edge because of poverty, and seminarians preparing to devote their lives to sharing the Good News. These are just a few of the ways we minister to those in need; there are many more.
Please help us continue to bring healing and hope to communities, families, children and Jesus’ disciples in 2023 by supporting this year’s America for
Christ Offering.
