Over the years of my ministry I have found myself wondering at occasional moments if I have truly made any difference in people's lives and if my ministry has really meant anything. At those moments, the Lord gently reminds me (sometimes not so gently) that this line of thinking is totally off the track of what ministry is all about. It really has nothing to do with me and everything to do with Him. As long as I remember that, then it is God who is making the difference in people's lives and God who is ministering to people's hearts.
Warren Wiersbe in his book Making Sense of the Ministry writes this:
The foundation of ministry is character.
The nature of ministry is service.
The motive for ministry is love.
The measure of ministry is sacrifice.
The authority of ministry is submission.
The purpose of ministry is the glory of God.
The tools of ministry are the Word of God and prayer.
The privilege of ministry is growth.
The power of ministry is the Holy Spirit,
The model for ministry is Jesus Christ.
These principles are something that not only I as a pastor, but all of us as ministers in Christ's church need to remember as we go about the work of serving Him in whatever capacity He has called us to serve. Whether that service be preaching, teaching, singing, cooking, cleaning, visiting, changing diapers, praying for others, or just attending church,
it's all about Him.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. (II Corinthians 5:18-20)

July 16 - 21 from 6 pm - 8:30 pm.
Say yes to VBS!
Hey, everyone! Summer is here, and with it comes VBS. We’re getting ready for Spark Studios VBS. It’s that time of year again! A time for kids to discover the truths of God among his or her peers in a fun, and energetic environment.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. –Ephesians 2:10
This summer, kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him.
Kids 3 yrs. (& potty trained by 6-1-23) thru those just completing 6th grade, will get their Imagination ignited and creativity awakened as they explore their artistic side. All while having fun digging into God’s Word, singing amazing songs, playing fun games, eating tasty snacks, making new friends and so much more! The time spent in Spark Studios will be full of fun, adventure, creativity, and best of all, discovering God and his great love for us.
We hope to see you there. We’re going to have amazing encounters with God at this year’s VBS.
*Pray that God will use us to be Jesus to all of these children and their families
that enter our doors.
Thank you, SRBC, for supporting our youngest worshippers.

Thank-you for being cautious in making sure all are safe.
Dayton Christian Center's 21 Century focus is providing High Quality Child Care services.
We do this in two locations.
Our main building built in 1951, has been renovated multiple times through the years. Today we are able to offer 5 classrooms of Infant, Toddler and Preschool services in our school.
In 2020 we opened a School Age only program adjacent to our main building. Our School Agers love our new set up. They moved from a 1000 sq. ft. room,
to a two story house that allows for small groups and lots of fun.
