Pastor’s Paragraphs:
David Slagel writes: My twenty-one-month-old, who had just learned to say, “Daddy,” had been struggling with asthma and an ear infection for two weeks. He coughed and sneezed continually, and his nose ran like a faucet. Each night when I came home, he ran to meet me at the door, smiling, coughing, nose running, yelling, “Daddy! Daddy!”
I was not repulsed by his runny nose or close-range sneezes in the least (he “slimed” every shirt I own!). I love him deeply and enjoy his love for me.
It does remind me, though, that when I am sick with sin, God loves me deeply and desires that I run to him as a son, crying, “Abba, Father.”
How wonderful it is to know that no matter what we may have done, no matter how much we have messed up our lives, no matter how many times we have fallen, that our heavenly Father waits with open arms to have us run to him and receive His loving care and forgiveness. As repulsive as our spiritual sickness must be to Him, in contrast to His holiness and perfection, He does not reject or repel us. Rather, He longs to have fellowship with us and to impart to us that purity and holiness which He makes available to us when we come to Him in sincerity and humility.
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.... Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:8-10)
With love, Pastor Scott

Lottie Moon By Janet and Geoff Benge
In a twist that only God could orchestrate, a spirited young girl who grew up to become a very well educated woman in the American South would ultimately find her calling as a missionary to China. As Lottie watched her fellow missionaries fall to disease, exhaustion, mental breakdowns, and death, she became just as dedicated to educating Christians about the often-preventable tragedies of missionary life as she was to educating Chinese people about the Christian life.
AWANA MINUTE
Awana is for children age 2 – 12th grade. We meet Wednesday nights from 6:05 – 7:30 PM.
Wow, November already, what happened to October, it seems to have almost flown by. Our clubs
are off to a roaring start, new friends, old friends and having fun learning more about Jesus our savior.
We love our Puggles, they’re learning that Jesus loves them! A big THANK YOU to Miss Mallorie,
Miss Kelly and Miss Rethola our new Leader in training. Thank you for your dedication and Love
for the Puggles.
October began with 6 of our leadership team refilling their tanks at the Awana Ministry conference in Kettering followed on the 12th by 18 TnT clubbers and 6 adult leaders who attended Junior Jam, an annual event held at Cedarville University for kid’s grades 3 – 6. We had fun and were amazed by speaker Matt Adams, a professional illusionist who challenged us to focus on Jesus and not be persuaded by our friends and others.
On the 16th, we had a fire drill and practiced exiting the building quickly, quietly and safely, before returning to resume club. Rock on we did it in record time!
On the 23rd clubbers and leaders arrived eager to sport the self-generated hairstyles in support of our theme “crazy hair night”, having fun while Bible learning complete with prizes and yes, some interesting hair.
November will focus on giving, as clubbers fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas child, and bring non-perishable foods to help re-stock our food pantry for the holidays.
There will be NO club Wednesday November 27 for all to give thanks with their families. Club will resume December 4, where the 1st store will also open for clubbers to shop for the treasures the store shelves hold!
Thank you to ALL volunteer listeners who are helping clubbers learn and hide Gods word in their hearts!
We ask that you continue to partner with us by praying for everyone involved in club each week, and for future clubbers that will visit our club. Thank-you for your continued support in this ministry!
Because Kids matter to God!

EYE ON MISSIONS
At Dayton Christian School,we boldly proclaim a Christian worldview in all that we do. We seek to prepare our students for life by providing strong, Christ-centered, Biblically-based academics, a full spectum of athletics, excellent fine arts, and a multitude of service opportunities. Along the way, our students are impacted daily by our “living curriculum” – our faculty and staff living out their own walk of faith before them. As a result, our students learn to seek God’s truth for their own lives. A DCS graduate is prepared for college or the career world and ready to impact their world in a God-honoring way.
SRBC's annual Children's Christmas Program is quickly approaching, and is scheduled for Sunday, December 8, at 7 pm! Please mark your calendars and join us!
