Justice. Is there a more noble goal that anyone could possibly have than to desire justice? There is an instinct within all of us that cries for justice. When something happens that is just plain unfair, something inside of us rebels against that and demands that it be corrected. This instinct is from God and is part of the summary of what it is He requires of us, as the prophet Micah told us. (6:8)
As Christians who believe that God is a God of justice, what is our obligation when we believe that injustice has occurred? Should we become angry? The answer to that is “yes!” Injustice should make us angry, to the point where we cry out like the prophet Amos, “let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an everlasting stream.” Amos had had enough of government corruption, bribery, graft, fraud and abuse of the poor. He called for change and demanded that people be held accountable for their actions. This is the honorable and righteous thing to do.
In this past unstable and difficult year, our country has seen people from both political extremes express their discontent with what they perceive to be injustice, in ways that are far from honorable and righteous. Their acts of violence, vandalism, and destruction only serve to harm their cause. Their words of hatred and foulness only defeat the very purposes they claim to have. Their actions only result in the fact that the justice they claim to seek demands that they be punished for their criminal behavior.
As Christians, what steps should we take if we believe injustice has occurred, be it through racial inequality, abuse of power, media manipulation, or the politicizing of issues? Our wonderful country has given us the prerogative to protest, but to do so peacefully and orderly, with respect to public property, and the rights of others to their property, personal space and opinions. To participate in such activity is not only our right, but perhaps our moral obligation. It is entirely possible to do so without committing crimes, disrespecting authority, and doing harm to others.
If you truly, truly feel that civil disobedience is the only choice you have,
as the apostles declared they must obey God rather than men, then you must also accept the consequences of that decision. Paul accepted his consequences of imprisonment, brutality, isolation and eventually execution.
Let us always remember that complete verse from Micah, which says that God requires us to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.

All that aside, students will have a great time hanging out together in person. Get ready for socially distant games, worship, and relevant lessons. Come check us out. We can't wait to see you soon!

AWANA MINUTE:
It is truly amazing how quickly the year is flying by. It seems like we were just celebrating the New Year and here it is February already, where did January go?
We arrived back to club January 6 after a 2-week break from club spending time with family, zooming with friends, and playing with new toys etc. Clubbers got back to the business at hand, of learning and reciting Bible verses, completing sections, and playing games.
January 20, Clubbers arrived dressed and ready for layer night our January theme.
They dressed in as many layers of clothes and accessories as they could either find,
and/or walk/waddle to club in.
Jan. 27 – Clubbers arrived wearing their favorite NFL gear and most importantly bringing cans of soup to help refill our Church’s food pantry. This theme night focuses not on football, but on the people of our community who are unable to put food on their tables.
We are looking forward to another exciting year, one where we hope to see many boys and girls become disciples for Christ. This cannot happen without the faithful leaders and listeners answering God’s call and serving him thru this ministry. Please pray for our leaders as we attempt to bring the word of God to young lives from our church & community, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve him!

Stacy and Tim Reese
STACY and TIM are endorsed to serve in discipleship and community development among
our partners working within the Haitian sugarcane Bateyes in the Dominican Republic.
They are both passionate about discipleship through artistic expression. Stacy will serve alongside women cooperatives in building relationships, retail management, mentoring and education. Tim has a background in marketing and will collaborate with church and local business leaders to help maximize their potential by encouraging innovation, business development and fellowship
