Let’s celebrate Easter with the rite of laughter.
Christ died and rose and lives.
Laugh like a woman who holds her first baby.
Our enemy death will soon be destroyed.
Laugh like a man who finds he doesn’t have cancer, or he does, but now there’s a cure.
Christ opened wide the door of heaven.
Laugh like children at Disneyland’s gates.
This world is owned by God, and he’ll return to rule.
Laugh like a man who walks away uninjured from a wreck in which his car was totaled.
Laugh as if all the people in the whole world were invited to a picnic and then invite them.
— Joseph Bayly, Psalms of My Life
(David C. Cook, 2000)
As your pastor, I am aware of the challenges, trials, heartaches and sorrows that so many of you are going through. My prayer is that the message of Easter, which is about so much more than one day out of the year, but the message of life, hope and victory, would be something that allows you to laugh in spite of your pain. May the joy of what has been done for us, and what awaits us, be that which overcomes your defeats and overpowers your frustrations. May our living Savior bring you joy and purpose by the reality of His presence every day. Happy Easter!
With love, Pastor Scott

Men's Mini-retreat “Uprising” April 7, 8:00 a.m.
What is the one thing that's impossible to change about yourself? You can change your appearance, your habits, your friends, your job…but you can't change your character. Not on your own.
You were in God's imagination before you were ever born. All the talent, gifting, and creativity you possess was placed in you by God Himself. Can you imagine the things you could do, the impact you could have on the world, if you tapped into the dreams God has for your life?
In each of these video Bible study sessions, Erwin McManus provides Biblical and practical teaching that will challenge you to allow God to transform your character to be more like His. He illuminates the desperate heart cry of every human being – “I want to live” – and then serves as a guide on a quest to answer that cry.

AWANA MINUTE
Dear Spinning Road Family,
March started off with the Awana store. The clubbers have been working hard completing sections and units eagerly awaited the opening of the store door to shop, spend, or save those hard earned points, on what the store shelves held for them.
Friday, March 16 the TnT clubbers (grades 3 – 6th) busted in to the Church ready to have a mini lock-in and maximize the time with food, games, a thought provoking lesson, and much Fun. Thank you to all who stayed up late and help this event to kick off with great fun.
Wednesday, March 21, we hosted our 8th Awana Grand Prix race. Thank you to all who entered the race this year and congratulations to all who raced and to the winners! Thank you to everyone that had helping hands, and thank you to all of our leaders, volunteers, parents, and Clubbers for a great race! Hopefully everyone had a great time, and has had opportunities to share with friends and family the message presented by Awana Missionary Steve. Many thanks to our Missionary, Steve Schenk for coming and loaning us the track and computer, and for helping us with the race. Start thinking about those car designs for next year!
Saturday March 24, 4 students and 4 leaders journeyed to Cedarville University for CedarMania, a one- day event for middle & high school students that challenged them to “be fearless about their faith” and their lives in a world where giving up is to easy. Through powerful messages, along with cool break-out sessions and plenty of Super Games and FUN it was a blast.
Our Club has been collecting nickels & dimes on the 2nd week of each month this Club year and raised $172 for our Missionaries Steve and Ken (former.) Great job clubbers and leaders!
We ask for continued positive thoughts, prayers and support for our dedicated staff and for the Great kids who attend each week.
Cool with Christ, Tere Sharp, Co-Commander
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2018
Wow! It’s time for VBS again!!! At least, it’s time to get ready for VBS.
This year’s VBS theme is “Game on.” The week of July 15 – 20, is the date to save!
During VBS kids will be Geared Up for Life's Big Game. They will study God's ultimate playbook and realize that God wants them to join His team. Game on VBS will be filled with Bible stories, music, games, tasty snacks, crafts, crazy fun and activities that will have lasting impact on the kids in your community and their families.
We are preparing early and need your help in two majorly important ways!
1. PRAY
* Pray for our volunteers.
* Pray for the work of God’s Spirit in the lives of the children who will participate.
* Pray for God’s protection over our property and activities.
2. VOLUNTEER
* Pray about where God may want you to help us teach and reach the children of our Church and
community this year. Stay tuned for registration and volunteer information in upcoming bulletins,
newsletters, flyers, etc.
Sunday Night video series: “The Good Book”
The Bible is a big book. Hundreds of characters and thousands of ideas parade across its pages from beginning to end.
From the uninitiated to the very seasoned, readers of the Bible will always find something new to learn in The Good Book.
Over the course of 8 sessions, pastors Deron Spoo and Kyle Idleman will visit the most salient themes about God in the Bible. With the goal of providing a sketch of each idea, each session will break down the concept into two smaller sections to unpack the meat behind the theme. At the center of the series stands God, and each theme will focus on who He is in relationship to His created order.
GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL
