I had always been proud of the perfect vision I had until I reached my late 40's. Then, my body was confronted by the law, the law of far-sightedness.
I resisted that law and tried to remain as free from it
as possible. I would hold items I needed to read further from my eyes until I discovered that my arms must have become shorter over the years!
Then I would buy reading glasses from the Dollar Tree, which I would pull out whenever I needed to read something. Eventually, I got a prescription for bifocals for those times when I needed to read but also see people's faces at the same time. Today, some 15 years later, I find myself nearly totally “confined” to my bifocals. I resisted it for many years, but have finally given up the battle. The irony is that what I had always thought would
be confining has offered me the most freedom. The law of farsightedness has not changed,
but only my submission to a higher law, the law of eyeglasses!
God's law is a great blessing to us, but many people find it to be too confining. So they resist it in order to hold on to what they think is their freedom. They want to able to live by their own rules, making their own choices and doing what is right in their own eyes. (pun intended) They don't realize that God's commandments have been given to us so that we realize that we fall far too short of what God wants our lives to be. (much like my arms fell far
too short)
That's why we are in need of grace, to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Once we have that new vision that comes from forgiveness and God's Spirit of holiness, then we become free to live the lives God desires for us. God's Word and God's law have not changed, but what changes is our submission to the fact that we need help. What we try to resist is actually the key to our greatest freedom. May you know the freedom that comes from loving the law of God and say as the psalmist says, “My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in Your Word...If Your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction...Oh, how I love Your law! I meditate on it all day long...I have kept my feet from evil path, so that I may obey Your Word.” (Psalms 119:81, 92, 97, 101)

Hey, everyone! Summer will be here sooner than you think, and with it comes VBS. Save the date and be ready for Spark Studios VBS.
It’s that time of year again! A time for your child to discover the truths of God among his or her peers in a fun, and energetic environment.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
This summer, kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him.
Kids 3 yrs. (& potty trained by 6-1-22) thru those just completing 6th grade, will get their Imagination ignited and creativity awakened as they explore their artistic side. All while having fun digging into God’s Word, singing amazing songs, playing fun games, eating tasty snacks, making new friends and so much more! The time spent in Spark Studios will be full of fun, adventure, creativity, and best of all, discovering God and his great love for us.
This summer we’re going to have amazing encounters with God. We hope to see you there.

The world has changed dramatically in the last 2 years. Communities around the world have been both socially and economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. That impact has been felt even more deeply in the most vulnerable communities and in those affected by other disasters. Even so, through your support for One Great Hour of Sharing: Love remains. In the midst of much uncertainty and suffering, One Great Hour of Sharing continues to be a tangible expression of love—walking with communities in times of crisis.
Love responds.
Love rebuilds.
Love remembers.
Together, we provide immediate relief and long-term recovery support after disasters; equip churches and leaders in disaster preparedness measures; offer assistance to displaced people; and support global development projects that empower communities around the world to thrive.
When you give to One Great Hour of Sharing you put love into action.
Your giving shares faith, hope and love all around the world. But the greatest
of these is love.
