1. A Place of Fellowship
Mary, Martha and Lazarus were his personal friends and people with whom He could make a temporary home.
In the Church, there is an interdependence that cannot be ignored.
There is a place and time for the inner circle of special friendships and a place and time to expand the circle.
2. A Place of Rest
Jesus needed a place to kick back, put His guard down and just crash.
The Church should be a place where you can just relax and be yourself.
3. A Place of Service
Both Mary and Martha understood that the Messiah was worthy of their time, attention, and effort.
Sometimes, busy work becomes a replacement for a relationship with Christ.
The truest, purest service you can give is to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn.
