Matthew 7: 13-23
Religion is good form.
Spirituality is good content.
The problem with putting all you energy into developing a good package, eventually the package gets opened.
Three ways to ensure content equals form
1. Look for it. (vs. 13-14)
Deut. 4:29
2. Examine the contents of your life. (vs. 15-18)
vs. 20 by their fruit you will recognize them
Galatians 5:22-23; II Corinthians 13:5
If your examination turns up nothing but rotten fruit, something needs to be fixed.
3. Get to know Jesus (vs. 21)
important phrases.
a. “he who does the will of My Father”
Am I busy doing God's will?
b. “away from me, you evildoers”
Attention and acclaim may be the only reward you will get.
c. “I never knew you”
A relationship with Jesus extends beyond your public life, into your private life.
