Judges 3:14-22; 4:17-22
War always began with sin.
There is a difference between killing and murder.
1. Judge: Othniel
Oppressor: Cushan-rishathaim of Aram
Othniel was a spiritual leader as well as a political leader.
God brings deliverance through death.
2. Judge: Ehud
Oppressor: Eglon of Moab
There is no hint of divine approval for Ehud's actions.
God uses us in spite of ourselves.
3. Judge: Deborah
Oppressor: Jabin of Canaan
Army commander: Barak
Enemy commander: Sisera
Barak had faith in Deborah, but not in God.
atrocities of war: Man goes far beyond the realm of a righteous war and commits acts of murder.
God sent His Son Jesus, to be killed, so His purpose could be fulfilled.
