Repentance is the foundation that makes all of Jesus' teaching make sense.
(Rev. 2:5, 16)
Marks of Genuine Repentance
1. Grief over sin
When we realize what we have lost because of our sin, it should cause us to grieve.
a. loss of innocence
b. loss of your testimony
c. loss of respect
d. loss of your closeness to God
2. Repulsion over sin
When you are truly repentant over your sin, you don't minimize it.
(Job 42:6)
3. Restitution toward others
You will have an immediate and urgent desire to get to the people whom your sin has wounded and fix the fall-out.
4. Revival toward God
The best thing that could happen to you is to get hit head-on and be confronted with your sin.
