Mark 2:1-12
Jesus was rejected (as were Elijah and Elisha,) because He did not do miracles in his own hometown.
It is in the disruptions of life that we have some of the most powerful opportunities to share Christ.
It was because of their great faith, that Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven.”
What He did next was not so much for the paralytic as it was for the teachers of the law.
What is required to fulfill our mission
1. Concern
Social gospel-people believe that as long as they are doing things that help people, they are fulfilling the mission of the Church.
The reason we are to do these things, is to get people to Jesus.
2. Creativity
Every program we have in church serves as a stretcher to get people to Jesus.
3. Certainty
If you are certain about Jesus, then you are going to address the most important need people have, which is a relationship with Jesus.
