Psalms 121
The first instinct people have when they are in trouble is to look for a place of refuge. (1)
The God who was capable of creating the heavens and the earth is capable of helping you with whatever problem you might have. (2)
How does God help?
1. God watches over you always. (3-4)
six times in the psalm -”shamar”- watch over or keep
- Yahweh - “the Lord”
2. God protects you always. (5-7a)
The Lord is your shade at your right hand- Even though you, might feel threatened that doesn't mean life comes to a stop.
3. God is with you always. (7b-8)
Even though Jesus would be leaving them, Jesus assured His disciples He would still be with them. (John 16:7)
Your feelings can fluctuate depending on how far away God seems to be. That doesn't change who He is.
That care extends from this life to the next.
Everything is going to be all right.
