Hosea 6:1-3
1. Let us return to the Lord. (1a.)
Any time you turn to the Lord, you are returning.
promise: “He will revive us; He will restore us; He will allow us to live in His presence.” (2)
2. Press on to know the Lord. (3)
a. Knowledge of the Lord consists of facts about God.
b. Knowledge is a heart understanding of those facts.
c. Knowledge consists of an experience with God.
d. Knowledge is acknowledging the blessings that come from God.
3. Let us not reject the pathway of pain.(1b)
God sees pain as something that is necessary for our ultimate well-being.
a. the only reason there is such a thing as pain is because of fallen humanity.
b. “He is not safe, but He is good.”
Sometimes protection is the opposite of what God wants for us. (Matthew 16:21-23)
God's goal is that the pain He brings would take us to a better place.
“If that's what it takes to praise you, Jesus, bring the rain.”
