Luke 5:27-32
1. A disciple receives his call in the midst of his life's work.
Matthew's name change represented the change from an Old Testament religion to a New Testament faith.
Matthew and James were publicans.
Thaddeus and Simon were Zealots.
How you look at your life's work is different from those who don't know Christ.
2. A disciple is willing to serve in obscurity.
Our task is to love Jesus and to obey His teaching. (John 14:24)
Our objective is to focus the attention on Jesus, and not ourselves.
3. A disciple is able to work with those who differ with him.
For the cause of Christ they were able to put aside their differences, and work together.
Someone you never cared for could end up being the best friend you ever had.
