Hebrews 12:6-11
Aspects of God's fatherhood
1. Authority and Discipline (II Samuel 7:14; Hebrews 12:6-11)
Discipline and love go hand in hand.
2. Provision (James 1:17; II Corinthians 9:8-10)
Being a Christian father means being concerned with the emotional and spiritual needs of a child.
3. Adoption (Romans 8:15; Matthew 7:11; Psalms 68:5; John 1:12)
God is Someone we can have a loving and familiar relationship with.
4. Inheritance (Galatians 3-4; Ephesians 1:13)
The beginning of that inheritance is the work of the Holy Spirit.
5. Heritage
The most valuable thing we have is to be identified with God, of being a part of His family, and to have the honor of carrying out His precepts and traditions.
What makes heaven heaven is God. It is being there with Him.
