Psalms 1
Like a sapling place by the river, we have been transplanted into a new spiritual environment.
1. A fixed thing (Jer. 17:7-8; Eph. 3:16-17)
A person changed by God is able to withstand the winds of change and the heat of opposition. He is able
to resist the pressure of temptation and find nourishment even in isolation and spiritual coldness.
2. A living thing (Eph. 2:1; John 15:5-6)
Its leaf does not wither.
Christians are alive because we are attached to Jesus.
3. A growing thing
If we dwell by the stream of Scripture, and keep close to the river of prayer, we will be growing things.
4. A beautiful thing (Eph. 4:15)
Whatever it does prospers.
The prosperity of the Christian life is the result of the life-changing power of God, not the basis of it.
5. A fruitful thing
It yields its fruit in season.
All you are expected to do is to bear the fruit God has created you to bear.
