1. Rachel (Genesis 30:1)
Ultimatums usually don't go over too well.
Don't say “or else” unless you are ready to pay the consequences.
2. Judah (Genesis 38) “let her be burned.”
Say what you want about sin. Watch what you say about people.
3. Nabal (I Samuel 25:10-11) “why should I give?”
Ingratitude is the most foolish, reprobate attitude we can have. (Romans 1:21-23)
It is one thing to forget to express thanks. It is another to refuse to express thanks.
4. Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4:29-33)
The words, “Look what I did” do nothing except set a trap for yourself.
II Corinthians 12:9 “I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses.”
5. Unmerciful Servant (Matthew 18:26-30)
“I will never forgive you.”
By your words, you will be judged.
Your words simply indicate what is already in your heart.
