I Peter 3:8-12
If the church is the family of God, then conflict and problem solving are going to be a big part of what goes on in the life of the church.
The Church as family
1. Sibling rivalry
If you are ever going to mature in the Lord, this is something you have to get over. (vs. 8-9)
2. A sense of security and identity
Ephesians 2:19- “fellow citizens with God's people and members of His household”
You were born into your natural family, you were born again into your spiritual family.
3. Concept of sharing
a. families share possessions (Acts 2:44)
b.families share hardships (I Cor. 12:26, II Cor.1:7)
c. families share responsibilities (I Cor. 12:27)
d. families share an inheritance (Eph. 3:6, I Peter 1:3)
