Ezekiel 33:1-7
At the heart of the duty of being a watchman is responsibility.
Ezekiel's responsibility was to warn Israel.
We have been given responsibility for the spiritual welfare of others in our lives.
Duties of the watchman
1. Stay awake on the job.
We need to be separated from the sleeping world. (Psalms 119:148)
2. Be armed for danger. (Eph. 6:10ff)
Precious things of great value are being threatened.
3. Preparedness for the single moment.
a. Every day, there will be a temptation, a decision to make.
b. the moment when Christ comes again. (Mt. 24:42-44)
4. Watchmen must also be prepared for good news. (Isaiah 52:8)
We have a different perspective from those who do not believe the Word of God.
