1. (vs 2-3). God has given us everything we need.
...seeing that His divine power has granted us everything pertaining to life and godliness through The true knowledge of Him who called us by His glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3 (NASV)
2. (vs 4-7). Receiving by Faith, then Growing in His Grace
Look at the progression of our spiritual growth described by Peter in verses 5-7...
It begins when we place our trust in Christ through faith. To that Peter says...
+ Virtue (Separation from evil)
+ Knowledge (The ability to discern truth)
+ Self-control (Saying no to self and yes to God)
+ Perseverance (Standing firm in Christ)
+ Godliness (Humbly walking with God)
+ Brotherly kindness (Living the love of God)
+ Love
3. (vs 8-11). The Benefit or Consequence of our choice
v8 - "neither useless nor unfruitful" - Benefit
v9 - "short-sighted" - spiritual blindness - Consequence
"...for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble." 2 Peter 1:10b
