Hebrews 12:15 “see to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled.”
As long as the root is still there, the sickening feeling will return again and again.
“Do not fret”
What to do to uproot bitterness
1. Wait (vs. 7)
Nothing earthly lasts forever. (2, 11)
Don't let bitterness control your actions.
2. Change your focus of attention (vs 4)
a. Delight in the Lord.
b. Commit your way to Him.
c. Trust in Him.
3. Act Constructively . Repent from evil and do good. (vs. 8, 11)
The only action you need to be taking is positive action.
Jesus' example
1. John 17:3 He knew He would be glorified.
2. John 17:9 He focused His prayer on the disciples.
3. He went to the cross.
