Judges 6:11-21
Gideon= “mighty warrior”
natural progression of struggling with faith- to move from the offensive to the defensive
- Blaming God gets you nowhere
- Questioning Him make you look foolish
- Excuses seem like perfectly good reasons
Gideon's first challenge: destroy the altars of Baal and Asherah
risks: a. it was the enemy's religion
b. they were his father's property
Second challenge: defeat the Midianite army of 135,000 men with an army of 32,000 men.
The difference between Gideon and the Pharisees in requesting a sign: Gideon wanted to believe.
God is patient with our weak and struggling faith.
If your faith is weak, keep struggling!
