Colossians 1:24-29
Growing in the Lord is something that every Christian needs to be doing.
The Church is the vehicle for Christian growth.
Illustration: Your life was like a glass of dirty water
Being born again is like being given a new glass.
Discipleship-filling up your new glass with fresh, clean water. (Col. 1:27-28)
Discipleship is a struggle. (1:29)
There is a purpose for the struggle of discipleship. (2:1-4)
You must continue to live in Him. (2:6-10)
Before a Christian can be fruitful, you must be rooted and built up.
Through the Church, you are receive the teaching and are given the opportunity to produce fruit.
Two principles
1. Accountability- to God and to our fellow church members.
2. Grace- space and freedom to be immature and the time to develop maturity.
