Isaiah 7:10-16
More than an assurance to King Ahaz, this was actually also a prediction regarding the birth of the promised
Messiah for all God's people.
What's so special?
1. He was born of a virgin.
The virgin birth was necessary because Jesus was literally God in the flesh.
Jesus has always existed.
Jesus is God.
Jesus created the world.
(John 1:1-3; 10:30; 8:58)
2. He was fully human. (Philippians 2:6-8)
Jesus didn't use His deity to His own advantage.
The first heresy was not that Jesus wasn't God, it was that He wasn't really human. (I John 4:1-2)
Jesus felt pain. Jesus felt sorrow. Jesus faced temptation. Jesus experienced anger. Jesus got frustrated.
(Hebrews 4:15-16)
3. He lives among us.
“God with us” - that's who Jesus is.
Jesus came to live in this world so that He could come to live in your heart.
